Amerant CoverMe7,8 allows for an overdraft of up to $100 without charging a fee.

Amerant CoverMe7,8 allows for an overdraft of up to $100 without charging a fee.** We will then apply your next deposit toward your negative balance. Available with checks, MasterCard Debit Card, and ACH (US residents only) all Value Checking, Interest Checking, Savings, Money Market, Relationship Money Market, and Relationship Interest Checking Accounts.
If there are insufficient funds available in your account, incoming transactions will process for up to $100. For information on overdraft fees and overdraft-related interest charges refer to our Miscellaneous Service Fees for Personal, Commercial, and Corporate Accounts.
Overdraft protection is a service that allows you to link a savings account or other Amerant account to transfer funds when the account is overdrafted. Enrollment at a local branch is required for overdraft protection. Amerant CoverMe7,8 allows overdrafts up to $100 without incurring a fee.** It does not require you to enroll or link an account. There is no fee to participate.
Overdrafts of up to $100 will not incur a fee. Overdrafts of more than $100 will incur a fee up to 5 times in one day. For information on overdraft fees and overdraft-related interest charges refer to our Miscellaneous Service Fees for Personal, Commercial and Corporate Accounts.
All personal, domestic Amerant customers are eligible for Amerant CoverMe and are automatically enrolled.
Amerant CoverMe covers checks, MasterCard Debit Card, and ACH transactions (US residents only). Amerant CoverMe does not cover Zelle transfers or services like Venmo or Square Cash.
* With the exception of Time Deposits, a fee may be imposed for paid or returned overdrafts created by checks, in person withdrawals, internal debits and transfers or other electronic means. There will be no fees on daily overdraft balances of $100 or less.
** Applies only to personal domestic accounts.

Overdraft fees, insufficient funds will be declined and charged a $35 fee (international or commercial accounts) or $10 fee (applies only to personal domestic accounts) up to 5 times in one day.
This is not a line of credit, we do not guarantee coverage, overdrafts are paid at our discretion, if we do not pay an overdraft transaction, it will be declined.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, the Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What does this mean for you? When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
IF WE DO NOT HAVE YOUR FUNDS TRANSFER AGREEMENT IN OUR FILES, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXECUTE TRANSFERS.
We value our relationship and it is important for us to safeguard your privacy and ensure that your funds are protected against fraudulent activity at all times. For this reason, we are providing you a link to our Electronic Funds Transfers Disclosure, Funds Transfer Agreement and contract.
Customers who request wire transfers through an Account Officer, should download the new wire transfer “Wire Transfer Form” and Electronic Signature Agreement (E-sign Agreement) to authorize this type of transaction. The E-sign Agreement will only need to be signed the first time a wire transfer is initiated.
