Amerant Bank Appoints Corey Frost Powell as Head of Private Client Group
Appointment comes on the heels of Amerant Bank’s commitment to expanding in the greater Houston market
HOUSTON, Tx. (August 25, 2023) – Amerant Bank, one of the nation’s largest community banks with a growing presence in Houston, Tx., has appointed Corey Frost Powell as Senior Vice President, Head of Private Client Group.
As Amerant’s head of private client, Powell is responsible for ensuring that the bank’s strategic vision and business objectives are met within wealth management services in the Houston market, while also providing tailored financial solutions and personalized services to high-net-worth clients.

Powell will oversee a comprehensive product suite, develop new business opportunities, monitor profitability, provide expert advice, lead team development, and ensure regulatory compliance, all while fostering collaboration and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Previously, Powell served as Senior Vice President, Private Client Advisor at Bank of America Private Bank. There, he directed a team of seasoned banking and wealth management professionals, catering his services to the financial needs of families with multi-generational wealth and corporate and not-for-profit affiliations. His notable career trajectory also stems back to his seven-year tenure as a Senior Vice President and Banking relationship advisor at The Northern Trust Company, a financial services company.
Powell earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas State University, having majored in Finance and Accounting. He is a resident of the Houston suburb of Bellaire, Texas, and is an active Trustee of the Holocaust Museum Houston, demonstrating his commitment to the local community.
