Unfortunately, our cyber world has also made it easier for scammers and hacker to successfully carry out fraudulent attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of today\u2019s greatest cyber threats is Business Email Compromise (BEC). It is a sophisticated scam targeting businesses. Attacks target employees with access to company finances via spoofed email(s), representing high-level executives or vendors, or tricking them into making wire transfers to bank accounts thought to belong to trusted partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BEC scams involve personal and business emails compromised as well as spoofed vendors, attorneys, title and real estate email accounts. These sophisticated scams are on the rise and impact small and larger businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Smart ways to avoid scammers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Do not rely on email payment instructions alone. Confirm requests by using phone verification and use previously known numbers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Know your customers\u2019 and vendors\u2019 habits including reason, detail and amount of payments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be suspicious of requests for secrecy or urgency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Think before your click on unknown emails, links or unsolicited communications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Verify changes in payment instructions with the intended recipient.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scrutinize email requests containing out-of-the-ordinary details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consider security procedures that include two-step verification for wire payments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create system rules such as:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Flagging emails with extensions that are similar to the company\u2019s extension.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flagging email communications where the \u201creply\u201d email address is different from the \u201cfrom\u201d email address shown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distinguishing internal from external emails.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you believe you may have been a victim of fraud, contact us as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>P<\/strong>rotejase<strong> de Estafas por Medio de Correos Electronicos <\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>La tecnolog\u00eda facilita nuestras vidas en muchos aspectos. Estos ataques sofisticados est\u00e1n en aumento y pueden afectar a peque\u00f1as y grandes empresas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Buenas Practicas Para Mantener Alejados a los Estafadores<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>No conf\u00ede \u00fanicamente en instrucciones de pago indicadas en un correo electr\u00f3nico.
