Houston, TX <\/strong>\u2013 Amerant<\/a>, of the nation\u2019s largest community banks, introduced the \u2018Amerant Latin American Gallery\u2019 in a partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gallery will be located within the new Nancy and Rich Kinder Building, which is a dedicated building for the Museum\u2019s fast-growing international collections of modern and contemporary art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Amerant Latin American Gallery showcases a broad range of artists drawn from the Museum\u2019s collections of Latin American and Latino art that includes photography; prints and drawings; decorative arts, craft, and design; and modern and contemporary art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gary Tinterow, Director and Margaret Alkek Williams Chair, MFAH, said, \u201cA century after the Museum\u2019s founding by a group of local art lovers, it is thrilling to place the finishing touches on the Susan and Fayez S. Sarofim Campus. Thanks to generous donors, like Amerant Bank, that we have been able to construct magnificent new facilities for the display of the art of the preceding century and of our time, and to provide new plazas and gardens that will make the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the cultural hub of the region. I extend my thanks to the legion of patrons who made this vast undertaking possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Nancy and Rich Kinder Building at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, joins the Glassell School of Art and the Sarah Campbell Blaffer Foundation Center for Conservation to complete the expansion and redevelopment of the Susan and Fayez S. Sarofim Campus. Designed by Steven Holl Architects, the Kinder Building houses over 100,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space and an international collection of modern and contemporary art, including eight site-specific art installations never-before seen. The Kinder Building is named in honor of Richard D. Kinder, Chairman of the MFAH Board of Trustees, and his wife, Nancy Kinder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
