Following the conclusion of the 28th OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting, held via videoconference on May 5, it was noted that continuing oil market fundamentals and the consensus on the outlook pointed to a balanced market. It further noted the continuing effects of geopolitical factors and issues related to the ongoing pandemic.

World Growth Projections for 2022

According to the IMF, global growth is projected to slow from an estimated 6.1% in 2021 to 3.6% in both 2022 and 2023. This is 0.8 and 0.2 percentage points lower for 2022 and 2023, respectively, than projected in January 2022.
