Passed by congress and signed by President Trump into law, the $2 trillion economic assistance package includes a new $349 billion loan program created by the Small Business Administration (SBA) called the Paycheck Protection Program. It will be administered under the SBA’s Section 7(a) program and offers 100% government guarantee on this loan.

As of 10:30AM, April 27, 2020, the Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that additional funding in the amount of $310 billion dollars has been approved by Congress as part of the CARES-Act Paycheck Protection Program Part II. Amerant is actively processing existing and new applications through the SBA in the order they’re received. Applicants who have already submitted their loan applications and have received an SBA authorization number will receive funding.
